As soon as we landed in Orlando, we went to the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Expo. It is such an amazing expo. Excitement was in the air---I was finally here! There were lots of different booths to see, but my first stop was the race merchandise. I saved up all of my Christmas money to spend at the expo. I wanted a Dopey Jacket, a new bumper sticker of course, and an "I Did It," Dopey Shirt. I was so sad to find out the jacket was sold out, so I bought the bumper sticker, and the shirt. I remember feeling like such a poser when I bought the "I Did It," shirt. I knew deep down I wouldn't "do it," but they didn't sell, "I QUIT DOPEY" shirts, so I couldn't buy those. I told Brandon, "Yeah, I'll probably sell this on Ebay," when we get home, after I paid for it.
I also made a pit stop at the New Balance booth in order to buy the new Run Disney Ariel Shoes. They are absolutely adorable, so I knew that Kate would have to have them. Lukas got his first pair of Run Disney shoes when he was five, so it was only fitting that it was Kate's turn.
We met Jeff Galloway at the Expo. I asked him for advice, and his advice was to walk all of the races, escpecially the half, to save my legs for the full. He also told me to run 10 seconds, and walk 30 seconds for the full. "If I get picked up by the balloon ladies, Mr. Galloway, I'm coming to find you," I said as we posed for a photo.
I also got my bib at the expo. Holy Batman, this is getting real!
