Day 2 Post Dopey

Everything was starting to catch up.  The 2am wake ups, the 15 miles walking in the parks each day, the 48.6 miles of races, the carb loading.  It was all catching up with a vengeance.

I slept the entire plane ride home.  Lethargic.  We got home, and my kids were SO excited to see us.  All of them, particularly A was pretty upset while we were gone.  He really struggled!  Momma had NO energy to play though.

"Lets all snuggle and watch a movie," I said.

HA.  Didn't happen.  Insteand, Momma curled up in the fetal position and slept.  And slept, and slept.  I slept the entire day away.  Lucky for me, it was a snow day, so I didn't have to miss work.   I slept some more.

Did I mention I carb loaded, like a lot for this race?  Well---my face BLEW up.  At first, I thought it was from too many carbs, but I really think after speaking with friends online that it was from due to the stress and such of running so much.  There are technical words in which I can't remember, but to sum it all up--my face was fat.  My whole body was swollen.  I looked like I had just birthed a baby.  It's amazing to see photos of me 3 days prior, and then photos of me right after Dopey and I look like a different person.  Worth it?  Yes.

Now, let me mention those feet of mine.  I managed somehow to keep all of my toenails, *insert fist pump* but I had HORRIBLE blisters on my feet.  Oh, the pain.  They hurt.  After the initial tenderness went away, I used some Bergamot Body Butter from my friends at Poppy & Clover, <---An amazing store located in Dalton, KY.  Check them out, you won't regret!   And I am NOT kidding---the next day the blister was ALMOST gone! :D Score!  Thanks, Riley and Gina!

I'm pretty sure that finally when I woke up from my coma, it was time to go to work.  My co-workers were shocked to see me strolling into school that following Tuesday.  I was waddling still, but I think they expected me to call in another week or so!
